De Lo Mio is an organization firmly committed to addressing the low quality of education children receive in undeveloped towns and rural areas of the Dominican Republic. Each year, in collaboration with community partners, we strive to provide underprivileged children with the essential educational resources they need for a brighter, opportunity-rich future.
Do you remember the excitement of your first day of school? The anticipation of opening a new backpack brimming with fresh, colorful school supplies? Regrettably, for many children in the Dominican Republic, this joyous experience is not a reality. Limited access to even the most basic educational supplies dampens their school days. But with your help, we can change that!
At De Lo Mio, Inc., we've planned our annual Back-to-School event for Saturday, August 3, 2024. During this event, we distribute donated supplies to students who are part of our "Mochila Initiative" program. "Mochila" translates to "Backpack," reflecting the program's goal of providing filled backpacks to the students.
The Mochila Initiative is a vital part of our non-profit's work. Our goal for this year is to fund and distribute 300 backpacks, each one packed with grade-specific school supplies. With your support, we can help provide these children with the tools they need to succeed academically, and give them the memorable experience of starting a school year with a brand new backpack of their own.
