MISSION

Our Mission

We feel a moral obligation to give back to the community through our numerous donations, creating and enabling an environment that will secure their future through quality education.

Our Vision

At De Lo Mio, we’re committed to combatting the poor quality of education currently being given to kids in the Dominican Republic through various donation activities geared towards minimizing lack and want as it pertains to their education as well as their wellbeing.

De Lo Mio, a term of endearment in local slang that loosely translates to 'One of Mine,' is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic. Established in 2018 by co-founders Rafael Beltre and Ana Diaz, the organization provides essential living supplies and educational resources to these children.

Beltre, a first-generation immigrant of Dominican descent, felt a personal call to action to improve the lives of children in his home country, a region with one of the lowest-performing educational systems worldwide. In the Dominican Republic, teachers often lack basic teaching resources, classrooms are overcrowded, and children are frequently compelled to work after completing less than 60% of their primary education.

Through De Lo Mio, Beltre and Diaz have committed themselves to remedying these circumstances. The organization is actively involved in efforts aimed at improving the overall quality of the education received by young boys and girls, teenagers, and vulnerable street children. By ensuring these children have access to a better education, De Lo Mio hopes to secure their future and empower them to make sound life decisions.

Although De Lo Mio was officially founded in 2018, Beltre and Diaz have been involved in similar philanthropic endeavors since 2011. They've worked tirelessly to respond to the needs of the impoverished, always without any personal gain. De Lo Mio symbolizes their continued commitment to this vital cause."
